DevOps/TechOps Engineer

JMI Laboratories is looking for our next DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer. Working collaboratively with our software engineering team, you will deploy, operate, and support our systems, infrastructure, and network. With your AWS experience in proactively building and managing cloud infrastructure and applications, plus your hands-on experience in maintaining on-prem systems, managing our infrastructure will take half of your time at most. You will invest the balance of your week in planning and supporting the release of application updates and playing a critical role in defining and executing our plans to improve our configuration management, testing, and release processes. You will also apply your communication and problem-solving skills, working closely with our scientific staff to ensure our cutting-edge data processing and analytics tools meet or exceed performance expectations.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, capable of operating with minimal supervision in a highly complex environment that values a blend of individual creativity and team collaboration. A bias to action, the ability to build strong relationships within IT and with business (scientific) users, and the ability to “figure it out” are also key attributes of our ideal candidate. For this position we are open to considering early career professionals who meet the minimum qualifications below as well as more experienced individuals with some or all the “nice-to-have’s”, with title, compensation, and reporting relationship depending on experience.

Chief Information Officer

Imagine a place where your talents can make a difference in global healthcare, where you interact with scientists producing cutting edge microbiology research for the development of new antibiotics, and to understand how microorganisms become resistance to these drugs.

If you would be interested in joining our organization as Chief Information Officer to help us achieve excellence by creatively using state-of-the-art technologies to support our data-driven services for pharmaceutical clients, we would be interested in learning more about you and your background.

We are searching for a collaborative and innovative individual who can partner with our scientific leaders to assess laboratory informatics needs that include custom software applications, custom instrument interfaces, lab automation, and data management and analysis, including modern genomics.

This pivotal position provides vision, leadership, and direction for all organizational internal and external information technology services. The candidate fulfilling this role must quickly become an expert about all company information and technology systems as the leader of the team that will develop and support these systems in a regulated environment.

This is an on-site, hands-on position in a small company. To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to be self-directed, think critically, resolve problems, and successfully execute tasks and projects. Personal integrity, the ability to negotiate, and diplomatic skills are other essential skills that will be important in working in a diverse environment.
