Timothy B. Doyle, M.S
General Manager
Timothy Doyle was appointed in 2026 to be the General Manager at Element Iowa City. A microbiologist and scientific leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing antimicrobial research, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and laboratory operations, he provides strategic leadership for scientific, operational, and client-focused initiatives, helping the organization deliver high-quality research services that support the development of new therapies to address emerging infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance.
Past Experience
After spending more than a decade at Cumbre Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Vertex Pharmaceuticals holding various drug discovery, screening, and development scientist roles, Timothy joined JMI Laboratories in 2015 where he has held several positions including most recently that of an Associate Director of Molecular Biology. He has authored or co-authored more than 35 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has presented research findings at scientific meetings and industry conferences and has been part of preclinical teams supporting IND submissions.
Education and Associations
Mr. Doyle holds a Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Winona State University. He is an active member of the American Society for Microbiology and remains committed to advancing scientific innovation, fostering collaborative partnerships, and developing the next generation of scientific leaders.
